Scott Pugliese, PT, CSCS

Scott Pugliese, PT, CSCS

Scott has over 25 years of experience in the physical therapy field and is co-founder of Greater Rochester Physical Therapy. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Scott graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University. He has advanced training in McKenzie, McConnell, and Mulligan techniques and is also certified by WorkWell Systems to perform functional capacity evaluations.

He is a member of both the American Physical Therapy Association, including the orthopedic and private practice sections, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Scott works on the First Niagara Business Works workers compensation managed care advisory committee and the MVP surgical subcommittee. He is a member of and past president of the Rochester Physical Therapy Alliance.

Scott grew up in Webster and resides in the Webster/Penfield area. When he isn't attending his son's soccer or daughter's lacrosse games he plays soccer himself. He is committed to helping people achieve the level of function that they desire throughout their life spans.

Susan Parker, PT

Susan Parker, PT

Susan graduated from Ithaca College's physical therapy program and is co-founder of Greater Rochester Physical Therapy. She has over 20 years of experience and has continued to advance her knowledge through professional development courses in orthopedics, women's health, and industrial medicine. Susan has furthered her manual therapy skills through courses in McKenzie, Paris and Mulligan techniques.

Susan is the Director of the Women's Health at Greater Rochester Physical Therapy. She focuses her clinical practice on the treatment of women's health issues.

Susan is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association including the Women's Health and Private Practice sections. She currently serves on the Nominating Committee for the Women' Health Section and additional task force committees. Susan has also been involved at a state level for APTA serving on the Reimbursement Committee for 10 years and also serving as the Finger Lakes District Director from 1987 thru 1991. Susan is a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society and currently serves on the Board of Directors. She is also a member of the American Urogynegolic Society, the National Vulvodynia Association, and the Interstitial Cystitis Association. She is also on the Advisory Board for OBGYN.net.

Locally, Susan is a member of the RIPA physical therapy sub-committee and the Rochester Physical Therapy Alliance.

Susan has lectured on topics related to Women's Health locally including Ithaca College, Nazareth College, grand rounds at Rochester General Hospital and Genesee Hospital, and local APTA events. Nationally, Susan has lectured at the National Midwifery Convention and, internationally at the International Pelvic Pain Society meeting in Banff Springs, Canada (2003).

Daniela Morone, PT, MBA

Daniela Morone, PT, MBA

Daniela graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1996 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy. She also received her Master's in Business Administration from St. John Fisher College in 2005. Daniela has been with GRPT since 1998 as a licensed physical therapist and is certified by Work Well Systems to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations.

Daniela is GRPT's Senior Therapist and Clinical Quality Coordinator.

Meredith Mark, PT

Meredith Mark, PT

Meredith graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. In 1998, she graduated from Western University of Health Sciences with her Master's in Physical Therapy. Meredith has furthered her manual therapy skills through courses in Maitland techniques. She has been a part of the GRPT team since January 2007.

Gretchen Roman, PT, DPT

Gretchen Roman, PT, DPT

Gretchen joined GRPT as a licensed physical therapist and certified sign language interpreter in the spring of 2008. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac College in 1996, a Masters of Arts in Deafness Rehabilitation from New York University in 2000, a certificate in American Sign Language/English Interpretation from LaGuardia Community College in 2003 and her Doctor in Physical Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in 2009.

Gretchen works as the Clinic Director of GRPT Pittsford. She specializes in general, outpatient orthopedic, post-surgical and sports rehabilitation, geriatrics and fall prevention. In addition, she works with an array of women's health diagnoses, such as osteoporosis, post-surgical breast cancer and secondary lymphedema. She is also skilled in the assessment of proper ergonomics and prevention of repetitive strain, particularly in sign language interpreters.

Jennie Hansen, PT, DPT, CSCS

Jennie Hansen, PT, DPT

Jennie graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BS in Exercise Science in 2006. She continued on there to receive her DPT in 2009 (and received the Award for Academic Excellence). She also has her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification, and continues to regularly compete locally and regionally in road races and triathlons.

Karen Nolan, PT, MS, PCS

Karen Nolan, PT, MS, PCS

Karen Nolan, PT, MS, PCS has focused her clinical experience in the pediatrics and developmental disabilities specialty area. She received her BS degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College, MS in Developmental Disabilities from the University of Rochester, and will complete her DPT degree at Regis University in 2012. She attained board certification as a Pediatric Specialist in 1999. She is certified to administer the Southern California Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests, and the Gross Motor Function Measure. She is a faculty member in the Physical Therapy Department at Ithaca College-Rochester Center, and has provided physical therapy services for children in Early Intervention, preschool, school-based and out-patient settings in the Rochester area since 1980.

Jay Shiner, CSCS

Jay Shiner, CSCS

Jay is the director of Powercore Athletics. He has over 22 years experience in strength & conditioning, fitness, sports medicine, and health club management. Jay most recently spent 3 years as the Major League Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Baltimore Orioles, responsible for the training and health of an $80 million dollar payroll. He spent 6-1/2 seasons working in the club's minor league system where he helped implement a uniform method of training throughout the organization. During that time Shiner also assisted the big league club in spring training and worked closely with the rehab camp during the season in Sarasota, FL. Jay also spent 3 years as strength and conditioning coach with the teams AAA affiliates at Rochester and Ottawa. He joined the organization in 2000 from University Sports Medicine in Rochester, NY, where he was the Director of Sports Performance, providing services for athletes, teams and school systems in the Rochester area.

A native of Rochester, NY, Jay is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, with Bachelor's degrees in both biology (with an emphasis on kinesiology) and organizational management. He is an international lecturer & published author in strength & conditioning & sports medicine, including NSCA USA & Japan, Canadian Personal Trainers Association, IOC/International Skating Union, and American College of Sports Medicine. He competed as a professional kickboxer before retiring with a record of 23-2. Jay has returned to Rochester to spend more time with his family. He resides in Webster with his wife, Carolyn, and daughter Sarah.

Ginny has over 25 years experience working as a Medical Secretary in various medical offices. She came to GRPT in March, 2010 with 6 years experience as a Medical Biller/Receptionist at Linden Oaks Physical Therapy. Ginny is glad to be part of the GRPT team.

Sue Bellanca

Sue Bellanca

Sue joined GRPT in 2006 as a part-time Administrative Specialist. She brings many years of executive administrative experience from past positions. Sue is responsible for ensuring all patient needs are met and enjoys interacting with them.

Gennell Degaetano

Gennell Degaetano

Gennell serves as GRPT's Administrative Director and HIPPA Privacy Officer. She has worked for the practice since 1995. Gennell received an A.S. in Business Administration from Monroe Community College in 1997. She is responsible for HR, accounts payable, credentialing physical therapists, and preparing and auditing month-end financial reports. She also manages the office staff.

Gail Manz

Gail is our part-time administrative specialist and first point of contact in our Tobey Village Pittsford office. She has worked as a medical secretary in private physician's offices and hospitals, and also served as secretary in the physical therapy program at Ithaca college and Nazareth college. Her top priority is to make sure our patients feel welcome and comfortable. Gail enjoys talking with our patients and is happy to assist with appointment scheduling, insurance questions and other information.
